UCET 2015 Tech Elevated: Call for Presenters

Presenters are needed for the 2015 Utah Coalition for Educational Technology Conference. UCET is looking for those of you who are excited to share what you have learned about technology in education with your colleagues. We need people willing to present based on these three selections:

  • Listen and Learn (One-way audience interaction)

    • Lecture: Hour-long Traditional
    • Panel: Hour-long Moderator and 2-3 panelists
    • Over the Shoulder: 20-minutes Focus on specific solution, tool or content provider
  • Participate and Share (Moderate audience interaction)

    • Interactive Lecture: Hour-long Some activities for audience participation
    • Student Showcase: Two-hour Demonstration style, Multi-booth location, 1:1 or small group interaction
  • Explore and Create (Extensive audience interaction)

    • BYOD (Bring Your Own Device): Hour-long Hands on activities
    • Workshops: 2-hour In-depth exploration, Limited enrollment

Pre-Conference Challenge #techelevated

The Theme

The UCET board is excited to announce the theme of the 2015 UCET Conference: UCET Tech Elevated

The Challenge

Will you be attending the UCET conference this year? Let the world know! Take a photo of yourself in well-known Utah locations showing off your “elevated” tech, then post your photo on your favorite social media sites with the hashtag: #techelevated.

In your photos, be sure to hold your technology (your phone, your tablet, whatever!) with both hands above your head. Take your photos in places like Utah national parks, monuments, and any other places in the state that represent Utah to you. Post your photos on social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.

The Prize

The people who post the best and most popular photos will win complementary UCET registration! One winner will be selected each month from now until UCET. So start posting!

Tech Tips

Twitter – Want your post to win? Be sure to include #techelevated in your tweet. Then get as many people as possible to retweet and favorite your post.

 

Facebook – Want your post to win? Like the UCET Facebook page, and post your photo to our wall. Include #techelevated in your post. Then get as many people as possible to like your post.

 

Instagram – Want your post to win? Be sure to include #techelevated in your post. Be sure your Instagram account is not set to private. If it's private, your pictures won't come up in our search. Then get as many people as possible to like your post.

 

Pinterest – Want your photo to win? Be sure to include #techelevated in your pin. Then get as many people as possible to repin your photo.

Spotlight on Herriman High School

Herriman High School opened its doors in the fall of 2010 to students from the southwestern end of the Salt Lake Valley. The school is a beautiful two-level facility, situated on a 50-acre campus, with views of the Salt Lake Valley and mountain ranges to the east and west. Since its opening, students have been laying a foundation for academic excellence, diversified clubs, athletic achievements, and rich traditions. They strive for an atmosphere of equality and high ethical standards. Herriman’s mascot is the mustang and their school colors are blue, red and gold. Cool Cat Teacher to Speak at UCET 2015

Planning for the 2015 Conference

The UCET Board will be meeting this upcoming week to plan out the 2015 Conference which will be held at a school district and school within the Salt Lake City valley. This meeting is important to hash out all the details so that we can make the conference a benefical and fun time for all those in attendance.
