Spelling practice is fun when students play Spell Pop! Spell Pop is an engaging and effective way for young students to learn their spelling words. Students pop the floating bubbles to spell out words. After each letter is popped, the letter name is played. Early spellers can look at the word as they spell it. More advanced students can have the word hide after 3 seconds so they have to remember it. Teachers or parents can make personalized spelling lists or use the one provided.
The words can be recorded so students can hear the word, see the word and spell it. Random letters can also be added for a challenge. Words can be up to 15 characters long. Your spelling lists are locked by a password so that your students don't get distracted.

You are not limited on the number of lists you can create.
Each student can have their own spelling words.
You may record your voice for each word.
For words you haven't recorded yet, an automated voice will say the word.
Audio of the letter popped is played for each letter.
You can quiz your older kids by completely hiding the word, or hiding it after displaying the word for 3 seconds.
Words can be as long as 15 characters.

Students can't change the current spelling list without entering the password for the parental gate.
Background music can be turned off in the Teacher Settings page.

Nathan Smith

Nathan Smith is Director of Technology for the College of Education and Human Services at Utah State University. In that role, he also directs The Adele & Dale Young Education Technology Center (The YETC) located in room 170 of the Education Building on Utah State University's Logan campus. The YETC is a combination student openaccess computer facility, a K12 curriculum materials library, a NASA Educator Resource Center for Utah, and a technology training center. Nathan served eight years (20042012) on the Board of Directors for the Utah Coalition for Education Technology (UCET) He was reelected in 2014 to serve another two year term on the board. A former elementary school teacher, Nathan has taught students every age from young children to senior citizens.
